Salesianum Band Members Perform the "1812 Overture" at Kimmel Center of the Performing Arts

Wilmington, DE – Five Salesianum Band members and their instructor, Mr. Brian Cox, were invited to perform with the Delaware County Symphony Orchestra on November 22 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. They joined the orchestra for their performance of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s "1812 Overture."

The students are all members of the Wind Ensemble at Salesianum, and include trumpet players Alec Davis '09 and Alex Conti '10, trombonists Sean Minderlein '10 and John Straguzzi '10, and euphonium player Stephen Gilcrest '11. Mr. Cox, an accomplished musician in his own rite, played the tuba.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to Live Jesus, guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
